Museumsnacht Bern 2025
Wilder Westen im Osten Berns! Am 21. März 2025 dreht sich in der BiG alles um Pferde. Exceptional closures
Due to preparations for the Museum Night in Bern, the Library Am Guisanplatz BiG will be closed on Friday, 21 March 2025 from 11.00 a.m. On Monday, 24 March 2025, the BiG will only be open from 2.00 p.m. due to an internal event.

Extraordinary closure
The Library Am Guisanplatz BiG will be closed on Friday, 24 January 2025 due to construction work. From Monday, 27 January 2025, the services of the BiG will be available again during the usual opening hours.
New database for federal employees: Project MUSE
Federal administration employees now have access to the Project MUSE (Museums Uniting with Schools in Education) database. Project MUSE is an electronic full-text archive of journals from leading academic publishers and major scientific associations in the English-speaking world.

New: Restricted loans for older documents
For conservation reasons, publications published more than 80 years ago may only be consulted in the reading room of the Library Am Guisanplatz BiG from 1 February.

The new dates for the webinars of the Library Am Guisanplatz BiG have been set. In a 15-minute online presentation, information specialists will show you the easiest way to find, read and save information on your topic.

The Library Am Guisanplatz will exceptionally be closed in the afternoons from September to December 2023. In the mornings, the BiG is open from 8.30 to 11 am.
Two new databases from EBSCO
Two new EBSCO databases are now available to employees of the Federal Administration: the multidisciplinary DACH Information database and the International Security & Counter-Terrorism Reference Center database.
New: Nexis Uni database
The Nexis Uni database with more than 11,000 sources is now licensed for the Federal Administration.
