New: Restricted loans for older documents
For conservation reasons, publications published more than 80 years ago may only be consulted in the reading room of the Library Am Guisanplatz BiG from 1 February.
In a bid to protect older publications, home loans will no longer be possible for publications held at the Library Am Guisanplatz BiG that were published more than 80 years ago. However, you can still consult the works in the BiG reading room during opening hours. You can also make your own copies free of charge on site.
You can also order book excerpts up to a maximum of 50 pages using your library account. The requested copies will usually be sent to you within two to three working days by email or, on request, by post. This service is free of charge for employees of the Federal Administration and the Armed Forces, but is subject to a charge for all other users.
