Reproductions
You can make your own copies, scans or photographs of documents held at the Library Am Guisanplatz BiG. You can also order digital and analogue reproductions.
Subject to copyright law, you can make or order your own reproductions of documents held at the BiG. Orders are free of charge for employees of the Federal Administration and the Armed Forces. For all other users, the fees listed below apply.
On request, the eBooks on Demand (EOD) service will digitise copyright-free documents, which you can then order as ebooks.
Ordering articles
To order journal articles or book excerpts, go to your library account in the Alexandria search portal and select the ‘Digitisation’ option for your chosen title. Enter the exact page numbers or section in the form.
Your requested copies will generally be sent to you by email within two to three working days. If you would like to receive a print copy by post, please mention this in the comments section when placing your order.
Please note that use of copies is subject to copyright and personality rights restrictions (see Art. 5 of the Terms of Use). Under Article 19 paragraph 3 letter a of the Federal Copyright Act, any copies made by you or the BiG must not exceed 75% of a commercially available title.
Ebooks on Demand (EOD)
Copyright-free books from the BiG’s collection can be ordered as complete ebooks via the Alexandria search portal. You do not need a library account to use this service.
Click on the option ‘EOD Order an electronic copy’ for your chosen title. This option appears only for copyright-free titles. After you have placed your order, you will receive an email notifying you of the final price. If you choose to continue with your order, a link to download the book as a PDF file will be sent to you by email, generally within ten working days.
More information on payment and delivery can be found at EOD eBooks, Payment and delivery.
