Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Library and Information Science
The Faculty of Arts at the University of Zurich runs the part-time degree programme in Library and Information Science in cooperation with Zurich Central Library. The Library Am Guisanplatz BiG offers a two-year internship for this degree programme.
The Library Am Guisanplatz BiG offers a two-year internship in parallel with the MAS degree course in Library and Information Science.
Content
- Basic information and documentation activities (collecting, recording, conveying)
- Current trends and issues in library and information science
- Additional areas such as library management, organisation, administration, PR, marketing.
Requirements
- University degree
- Solid command of German and French or Italian, and of English
- Broad general knowledge, organisational skills, imaginative and logical reasoning power
- Highly developed communicative and team player skills
- Independent, outgoing, social competence
- Interest in information technologies and a good user understanding of IT
Extras
The internship at the BiG begins on 1 May, while the degree course in Zurich begins in August of each uneven-numbered year.
