Head of the BiG
Daniel Kohler heads the Library Am Guisanplatz BiG.

Daniel Kohler (*1974) has been head of the Library Am Guisanplatz BiG since 1 October 2016.
He graduated from the University of Bern in 2002 with a degree in Modern General History and Geography. In 2013, he supplemented his education with an Executive Master of Public Administration at the Competence Centre for Public Management at the University of Bern.
Before taking over the management of the library at Guisanplatz, Daniel Kohler held various management positions within the BiG. Among other things, he headed the coordination of the Alexandria library network and the DDPS archive service. As project manager, he successfully introduced a purely cloud-based library management system for the BiG and the entire Alexandria library network at the end of 2013. Alexandria was thus the first association in Switzerland to take this forward-looking path.
Daniel Kohler is married and lives in Kirchberg BE.
