World Book and Copyright Day 23 April

The Library Am Guisanplatz BIG presents its literature on copyright.

Depuis 1995, le 23 avril est la journée mondiale du livre. Consacrée par l’UNESCO, cette journée fait la part belle au livre, à la lecture et à l’écriture et, ce que l’on sait moins, met aussi à World Book Day is celebrated on 23 April every year. The Day was first proclaimed by UNESCO in 1995 and has since brought a focus on books, reading and the written word once a year. Less known in the German language area, however, is that the Day is also dedicated to copyright, thus its official name is World Book and Copyright Day.

In the light of the rapid technological development that has taken place since it came into force in 1992, the Swiss Copyright Act is currently under revision.
