Training at the BiG

Apart from theoretical vocational expertise, the apprentices obtain practical everyday training and are supervised, supported and promoted by motivated teachers.
As part of the daily routine, obtained theoretical knowledge is put to practical use, whether in archives, in the library or in documentation offices of the administration, industry, the cultural and commercial sector or in journalism. You learn how information is puposefully researched and evaluated, ordered, kept, preserved, conveyed and lent. This also includes communicating via suitable media and consulting customers. Through exchange with other information and documentation offices and professional circles the BiG is continually adjusting its operational training to new findings and demands.
