The brochure on the exhibition ‘Walter Rutishauser: Fotograf. Streiflichter auf die Sammlung’ has now appeared in the BiG publication series (numéro S).
The brochure accompanies the current BiG exhibition on press photographer Walter Rutishauser (1940–2017) and sheds light on aspects of his biography and the background to the exhibited photos.
The brochure accompanies the photographs displayed in the current exhibition on press photographer Walter Rutishauser. The exhibition at the Library am Guisanplatz has now been extended to 31.08.2023.
The texts in the brochure relate to the four themes selected in the exhibition: beginnings as a press photographer (die Anfänge als Pressefotograf); national roads (die Nationalstrassen); Parliament – behind and in front of the camera (Fokus Bundeshaus: vor und hinter der Kamera); and Rendezvous with Culture (Begegnungsort Kultur). They were written by Oswald Sigg, Christine Rohr, Ronja Eggenschwiler and Mathias Kobel.
The Rutishauser collection
The Walter Rutishauser photo archive contains around 300,000 items and has been held at the BiG since 2013. The collection of some 6,000 portraits of members of parliament has already been digitised and can be accessed online via the www.alexandria.ch search portal.
