Meeting room reservations

We have two meeting rooms that can be used by Federal Administration employees and the general public, which are available for events that can also be held hybrid. Both are suitable for meetings, workshops, presentations and training courses, and are appropriately equipped. They can be booked from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

The Library am Guisanplatz BiG has two modern, well equipped meeting rooms. These can be used free of charge by employees of the Federal Administration and armed forces, as well as by members of the public. Private businesses and members of the public may not book the rooms for commercial or political purposes. The BiG management reserves the right to decide on use of the rooms in individual case.


Kurz conference room

  • Suitable for meetings, workshops, presentations; possibility to carry out hybrid
  • Tables for up to 14 persons / Seating in rows for up to 40 persons

De Mülinen meeting room

  • For meetings and discussions; possibility to carry out hybrid
  • Maximum 10 people

Each room has:

  • Projector
  • DVD / CD / Blu-Ray player
  • Camera with integrated microphone and loudspeaker for hybrid sessions
  • 2 wireless microphones
  • Laptop connection (VGA and HDMI9, if you have an Apple notebook, please bring your own cable
  • Internet connection via gov-public WiFi (registration and log in via a mobile phone). Federal Administration employees can log in via LAN cable or WiFi. 
  • 1 wireless presenter/pointer
  • 1-3 flipchart/s
  • Pinboard/Magnetic board
  • Moderator kit for workshops

One laptop is available for use with the standard MS Office suite: PowerPoint, Word, Excel and and various browsers; no connection via smartcard.


The BiG is open from Monday to Friday 8.30–11am and 2–4pm.

The rooms can be used over lunchtime and the building can be exited at any time. If you need to enter the building between 11am and 2pm, please contact User Services.

If you need to lock the room you have booked, please ask and sign for a key at the front desk. 



The rooms can be booked free of charge.

Beverages may be consumed in the meeting rooms; eating is not permitted.

Groups of up to 15 people may use the cafeteria from 10am in the morning and from 3.30pm in the afternoon. Here there is a vending machine selling coffee, snacks and beverages.

If your group is larger or you wish to take a break outside of these times, we recommend the Novotel Hotel opposite the library.

We run guided tours of the library on request. These can be booked with User Services.

The rooms are adjacent to open-plan offices. Please remind participants to keep noise to a minimum when outside the rooms so as not to disturb the library staff.

There is a limited number of parking spaces in front of the building, primarily for use by visitors. A parking space can be reserved in advance on request.


If you require medical first aid, please contact the front desk immediately.

In the case of evacuation of the building, please go to the meeting point at the entrance to the Novotel Hotel opposite the library.


Confirmation of a booking request automatically involves acceptance of the meeting room booking agreement and the house regulations by the user.
