National licences

National licences give all residents of Switzerland free access to over six million scientific articles from the journal archives of the publishers De Gruyter, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press and Springer. The BiG's national licences give all Swiss residents free access to over six million scientific journal articles.

The consortium of Swiss university libraries offers every resident of Switzerland access to a large number of electronic articles from the journal archives of the publishers De Gruyter, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press and Springer.

Residents of Switzerland have access to more than 6 million scientific articles covering a wide range of scientific disciplines from the publishers listed above. However, all of these magazine archives are subject to an embargo. Details can be found on the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries website.

National licences are available to employees of the Federal Administration and the Armed Forces directly via swisscovery, but only on a work laptop (outside the federal network via VPN), for automatic authentication. The content of the national licences is also available via the Alexandria search portal.

As a private individual, you can register for access via the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries.
