Lending

The BiG ist open to the public. Its collections can either be lent out or consulted at the library.
The collections of the BiG can be searched online at at www.alexandria.ch. The library is open to the public.
In principle it is possible to lend all documents that date no further back than 1914. The maximum lending period is usually 28 days and can be extended five times at the most, provided there is no reservation. Documents dating back to before 1914 can be studied on location.
For lending clients must register. They can register at www.alexandria.ch. Registration and lending are free of charge.
The documents can be sent back either by post or handed in personally at the circulation desk.
