The Library Am Guisanplatz is open for visitors. Most of its services are available again without restrictions. These include, among other things, the lending and consultation of documents on site as well as the customer workstations. Likewise, the current exhibition is once again open to the public.

However, reservations for meeting rooms will still not be accepted.

Protection concept - information on site

In order to protect the staff as well as the users of the library at Guisanplatz (BiG), a protection concept based on the recommendations of the association Bibliosuisse has been developed under Covid-19. This is continuously adapted to developments. The current regulations of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and those of the Bernese cantonal authorities apply.

All visitors are required to wear masks throughout the BiG building. Please follow the instructions on site, keep your distance and disinfect your hands before and after using the computers and photocopiers. Disinfectant will be provided.

Please do not visit if you have symptoms of illness typical of Covid-19, or are or feel ill. If you have any questions about the individual services or the protection concept, please contact us via
